Today I’m sharing my July 2016 Blog Income Report. So, I haven’t blogged in a month here. Ugh. Can we just not talk about it? I’ve been so mad at myself about dropping the ball on my goals and plans for the past 2-3 months. I’ve stayed on top of blogging at my primary blog Rose Bakes, but I’ve really let things slide here.
Anywho… moving on.
Scroll to the bottom for links to my previous months’ income. Why am I sharing? Well, several months ago, over on Rose Bakes, I wrote a post about how to make money blogging (specifically with a food blog, but most of my info would apply to any blog). Then back in January, I wrote a post on how I made almost $37,000 blogging in 2015. Both of those posts got a lot of attention.
In addition to that, I’m always talking about finances with someone. I love to talk about budgeting, saving, making money online, paying off debt, blogging, etc. And ya’ll… when I say I love it, I mean I love it. I get as excited about that stuff as I do about cake. Haha!
Yes, I am a nerd. (I absolutely love math! 😉 )
Anyway, since my previous posts about blogging and money and income have been popular and I absolutely love reading other blogger’s income reports, I figured I’d jump on that bandwagon and start sharing my income reports. My hope is to inspire, encourage and help other bloggers increase their income… or help someone else jumpstart a blog so they can start earning online as well!
And maybe… just maybe, I’ll start blogging about all the other money related stuff that I love too… like how to budget, how to stay out of debt, how to plan for emergencies, etc. What do you think?
Okay, so without further delay… here is it is:
July 2016 Blog Income Report (this includes both of my blogs although most of it comes from Rose Bakes).
January and July are typically the worst months for traffic in the blogging world. Or at least that’s what I read somewhere once. And it seems to hold water in my case.
So as you can see down at the bottom – my traffic was down. Waaaay down. The lowest so far this year. After my low traffic last month, I’ll honestly say that this trend makes me very nervous. But I’m trying to stay positive and I’m counting on the fact that this is just a summertime lull.
But even with the lowest traffic of 2016, my income didn’t dip much below my average for the past 4-5 months and that makes me happy, happy, happy! Here’s a chart with my traffic plus net & gross income so far this year:
I told you in May that I intended to cut my expenses dramatically and I was successful with that in June and July! My goal was to get them below $750 and somehow I managed to get them get them below $700 two months in a row! Yay me!
